Een prothese is een technisch hulpmiddel \u00a0samengesteld uit onderdelen of componenten, bedoeld om in functie, gebruik, uiterlijk (of in combinatie hiervan) een niet (meer) bestaand lichaamsdeel of gedeelte daarvan te vervangen. Het dragen van een prothese kan voor de pati\u00ebnt het verlies aan mobiliteit opheffen.<\/strong><\/h5>\n
Er bestaan, naargelang het amputatieniveau verschillende prothesen:<\/p>\n

boven- en onderbeenprothesen<\/li>\n
voetprothesen<\/li>\n
armprothesen, al dan niet met elektronisch gestuurd gewricht.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Samen met u en de begeleidende artsen en\/of therapeuten wordt beslist welke prothese gemaakt wordt.<\/p>\n
EDS-orthopedie is reeds jarenlang gespecialiseerd in het op maat vervaardigen van prothesen voor het bovenste en voor het onderste lidmaat. Uiteraard is een deskundige, individuele begeleiding van de geamputeerde noodzakelijk.<\/p>\n
Wij volgen de nieuwste technologie\u00ebn, zodat we onze prothesedragers kunnen verzorgen met de beste materialen en technieken. Een amputatie hoeft helemaal niet het einde te betekenen van een actief leven, daarom geven wij duidelijke informatie zodat de pati\u00ebnt terug kan starten met een nieuw hoofdstuk in zijn leven. Opnieuw leren lopen met een beenprothese of het opnieuw leren uitoefenen van alledaagse activiteiten met een armprothese is niet eenvoudig.<\/p>\n
